"I love these pants!! I did my homework before buying and looked at competitors items. I also read the reviews from other customers before ordering. I bought 2 pairs and they happened to be closeout items. They fit great. The action waist is nice for that "extra movement". They have plenty of pockets to carry along a knife, flashlight, extra magazines, and whatever else you want to!! I was in the military and wanted something with cargo pockets to store items when I conceal carry. I still haven't figured out what the rear strap is good for, but someday I might. I love how the rear pockets are "slash cut" which makes it so much easier to get things in and out of the pockets. I could go on all day about the great benefits of these pants, but I wont. TAKE A CHANCE AND BUY A PAIR!! Soon you'll be hooked like me and place 3 different orders within 2 weeks!!"

"I'm not in the Special Forces. Not on a SWAT team. Not even a first responder. I'm a computer geek and I love my 5.11 Tactical Pants. I've looked everywhere for a good solid pair of cargo pants that are heavy enough to come out of the dryer ready to wear. I hate to iron. These guys fit the bill. The pockets are great for the bits and pieces of gear I use to get through my geeky day and the pistol magazine pocket is the perfect size for my iPhone. On weekends, they're great for hiking and those big pockets hold a lot of camera gear. Highly recommended even if you don't carry a weapon."

"I've been looking for a good pair of cargo pants for a while when I found these. That they come in colors other than black and kakhi seems nothing short of miraculous.
I'm a professional computer geek who does a lot of network support, so having a bunch of pockets to stash an assortment of small tools, patch cords, and small bits of electronics is essential, in addition of course to the wallet that's way too thick to sit on comfortably, the PDA, cellphone, iPod, and a digital camera.
My only complaint is that some have 5 belt loops and some have 7 and there doesn't seem to be any way to specify which way you want it. my first pair of black pants had 7 belt loops, the second had only 5. My green pants came the opposite. The ability to specify would not be awry.
Personally, I'd also love to have another cellphone pocket on the other leg."

"I originally bought these from Royal Robbins, at a higher price, but they were worth it! Now 5.11 Tactical keeps these great pants alive in many more useful variations, thanks from the bottom of my... um...
I started wearing these years ago when i did field service for a company that made steam sterilizers.
The thick cotton provided a degree of protection against the hot piping, after of hours in a hot sterilizer access room, I would be quite sweaty, yet these pants remained non-binding and very comfortable to move around in.
The elastic sides do not dig in as some pants do, an important feature after 10-12 hours in the same sweaty pants. I've NEVER found a better pair of pants, from army BDUs to designer style climbing pants costing twice as much. They might not be the best choice for actual combat type operations, but for civilian field use- they are optimum.
These are truly serious pants that could and should be the basis of any uniform for people that work hard in the field. Strange that they work so well for an engineering job as well, I will be trying the the different styles soon, and have great hopes for their utility and functionality.
Anyone who works hard and active owes it to themselves to try these pants, there is a very good reason the style has survived for so long."

"I believe I have put the 5:11 tactical pants to the ultimate test. I have worked for over 3 years in the Middle East under less than desirable conditions and these pants far out rate any others that claim to be in its class.
Number one key factor is… they ARE comfortable and let me maneuver into some pretty tight situations without binding. Next in line would be the durability. I unintentionally have tried to beat these pants down and they come back strong. And last these pants are affordable when it is time for replacements and it is not too often.
Each cargo area is utilized to its full capacity and I never seem to run out of room. And the variety of colors helps me to blend if necessary.
My team and I don’t just consider these as a pair of pants but a vital part of our equipment.

"For all the years I've been an IT guy I've searched for something I can wear from a meeting to a crisis in the server room. Three years ago my wife surprised me with three pair of 5.11 Tactical pants for my birthday and now that's all I wear.
With double knees, pockets for days and an ever-expanding choice of colors I can show up each day and concentrate on my work and not worry about whether or not I'll look presentable after fixing a problem.
I can even walk down the hall packing most of my tools in my pockets and be hands free for doors and handshakes. When I get to the service location, I have the freedom to bend, kneel and crawl around due to the roomy cut that lets me move while not looking sloppy during the rest of the day.
While not a front line tactician, even our first responders need maximum up time from their communications network and the 5.11 tactical pant lets me concentrate on keeping the network together."

"These pants are made by 5.11 Tactical, which originated from the rock climbing/outdoor company Royal Robins. These pants come in both Cotton and Nylon and also come in sizes to fit men and women. They are great tactical pants as well as rugged everyday pants. I have only had these pants for a short time, but so far they have held up well and I love the features. One feature that I wish they had was a dedicated wallet pocket above the back pockets. The back pockets are large, and if a wallet is placed in them it rides low and ends up under your leg when sitting. I normally carry my wallet in the thigh cargo pocket on pants with cargo pockets anyway....so it's not too big an issue. This way, also, you can put things such as AR magazines in the back pocket and have plenty of room. Speaking of cargo pockets...I have seen in one place an advertisement for these pants saying they have the 5.11 BBS (backup belt system, velcro which allows pockets to be attached) in the cargo pockets. Some 5.11 pants do have this...these pants, however, do not. I noticed two things on these pants that is not mentioned in their description. One thing that can be seen in the picture below is that they have an additional button to hold the fly closed on the inside. Another is the fact that the hemmed versions also have holes in the cuff for you to add a drawstring for blousing like BDUs. Fading in the coyote color that I bought isn't an issue so far. I have seen coworkers with black cotton 5.11 pants that don't appear black after the first couple washings. They appear a dark green and sometimes a dark navy blue, and seem to fade faster. Here are some of the other listed features of these pants: 1- Double knee with pocket for kneepad. The pocket opening is on the inside of the pants and opens from the side. 2- YKK zipper fly with Prym snap closure. 3- Solid Brass D-ring off the right front belt loop. 4- Wider Belt loops are more durable. 5- Magazine/cell phone pocket on front of left thigh. 6- Bellowed cargo pockets with velcro closure. 7- Double seat. 8- Rear slash pockets with Velcro. These pockets are large. 9- Elastic waist. 10- Utility strap over right back pocket. This feature comes from the original pants designed for rock climbing and is where carabiners were attached. I have used this strap to attach a small MOLLE cell phone pouch. 11- Reinforced areas on front and rear slash pockets to reduce wear from knife clips. 12- Bartacks and triple-stitched for strength and durability. 13- Made from 8.8oz cotton canvas or 7.4ox nylon canvas."

"I have had at least one pair of these pants in my closet since you had to buy them as Royal Robbins pants. (I still have one pair of those and they have been washed more times than I can count). These are excellent pants for all aound use, Tactical, EMS, and casual wear.
I love the fit and the extra pockets are great but not huge and baggy so you don't look like your wearing old ill fitting baggy military surplus. These fit right in at with a nice shirt at a decent resturant; or with a tee shirt lying on a pad at the sniper range. How can you beat that!"

"That I got these at the sale price was a big plus. Cotton tac pants seem to vary greatly -- a 34 waist can be too small in one and just right (or even too big) in another. They also fade rather quickly. Better for winter. The new Tac Light (cotton/poly ripstop) are a nice improvement over the 100% cotton."

"I was surprised that the front pockets could not discreetly hold a small J-frame revolver. ( The J-frame fits perfect in my academy shorts.) ( BTW. I tried on the 511 Jeans in a local store and was also surprised that the front pockets were very shallow-nothing bigger than a derringer would fit discreetly."

"5.11, This was my first purchase through you, and I was extremely pleased. I have purchased various tactical/station/front line pants before, and always have been dissapointed. I am a big guy and often have trouble finding pants that are both comfortable and workable, your pants are both.
I love the extra materials and stiching in the knees and the rear. I may or may not use pads in the knees, but it is nice to know how easy it is to put them in. I always wear out the inside of the pocket with knives and various tools, but with your leather reinforced covering, these should last for quite a while. I will be ordering several other pairs soon. Keep up the inovative thinking!"

"I have recently purchased 4 pair of the 5.11 pants and have found them to be of the highest quality and comfort. The construction that goes into these pants is second to none. After a close physical exam of each pair, I believe these pants will last me a very long time. Outstanding product and well worth their price. Once you have a pair there is no other that comes close. The 5.11 pants and shirts are all I wear on and off duty.
