"The pockets in these shirts are ideal for survey field books and maps. 511 Tactical shirts are the best piece of field equipment I've got after the Total Station and data collector.
Having the desert heat to look forward to this summer I was going to order a half dozen or so of the rip stop nylon shirts. The cotton shirts are just too hot and heavy, including the short sleeve cotton.
To my surprise and complete disappointment these shirts are no longer being offered.
But I guess they are going the route of the long sleeve denim. Not all of your customers are First Responders or PSD. They are very functional field engineering and construction work shirts too.
Oh yeah; please bring back your denim long sleeve!"

"I have a number of these, and wear them almost ever work day (which is 7/week, deployed).
Cons:
a) Not a dress shirt :)
Pros:
a) Not a dress shirt!
b) Velco pocket flaps really hold things tight and secure, although this can be a pain if you only have 1 hand free.
c) Rugged and comfortable. Nice and cool.
d) Fits my shorter build well *5'7")"

"SW Louisiana is hot and humid to a degree that words fail the proper feeling. Our previous polo type shirts would bleach and/stain in as little as two weeks of constant exposure. The 5.11 shirts have proven to be cost effective and durable. They remain colorfast and dry quickly as advertised. The only improvement I would like to see are longer tails for tall people."

"My closet is full of 5.11 clothing. My favorites are the tactical pants in nylon and the short-sleeved tactical shirt in nylon. This shirt wears well, is comfortable in hot climates, and has proven to be durable. The pen pocket needs to be sewn full length, and there should be a pencil pocket on one sleeve and a velcroed pocket on the other sleeve. Stretch material should be added to the fabric to make the shirt more flexible too. That said, this is my favorite casual shirt, bar none!"

"I have two of these shirts and I love them both. The versatility is amazing and the quality is typical 5.11 (bombproof). The amount of pockets is well above industry standard and the hidden documents pocket is included. These shirts really dress up the tactical pants as well. I have noticed a slight size difference betweens colors though--be sure to try the fit."

"I bought 1 of these in OD Green, and It's a great shirt to have. Sometimes when i feel like I should wear something with buttons on it instead of just a t-shirt I'll wear this untucked with a pair of khakis. It conceals a full-size sidearm very well without printing. The vent in the back is nice on hot days, especially if there's a breeze it really gets up there and cools you down. The hidden pockets are nice too, good place to keep cell phones and magazines and stuff like that. Great shirt, wish I had more in nylon."
