"My husband (retired police) LOVES these tactical shirts. Recently bought one in "fire navy" but was disappointed with the color. The blue is so dark it's practically black - not at all how it shows on the website. This is a GREAT shirt and I wouldn't hesistate to get more in other colors, but I was looking forward to seeing him in that awesome blue."

"I am not one of the "high speed" guys. I wear these shirts for my profession. I have lost count of how many of these shirts I have purchased. They last on average about two years, the quality in craftsmanship has done nothing but improve over the last several years. They fit well hold all my gear and stay looking good until they literally fall apart."

"These shirts are great for traveling. Since most of my travels are international, I need to carry passport, other travel documents, tickets, bills in multiple currencies.
And the pen slots on the sleeves are great for everyday use, having a pen handy is great.
I already have 3 of these and plan to get more later."

"I bought my first one from the pro shop at the Blackwater Training Center in North Carolina, when the Navy sent me to the VBSS Breacher course. I loved that shirt, wore it for years. The only reason I had to get rid of it is my dog decided it would be fun to rip it apart. But I've gotten three more since then."

"Great if you're wearing a vest, but for normal wear, I wish the shirt fit a little snugger, or was available in smaller sizes. The collar tends to wrinkle/bunch up. Love all the pockets though."

"As with all 5.11's clothing, this shirt is top shelf. The fabric is heavy enough to withstand the wear and tear of daily use, whether on duty or off. Since it's 100% cotton, it won't sweat you to death like the synthetic fabrics will. When it does get wet, it dries fast and still looks good. The pocket layout is just as on the long sleeve shirt so it works well. It also has a more "athletic" fit so there isn't a bunch fabric hanging out to snag on stuff or get in the way. The longer shirt tails help it stay tucked in no matter how strenuous your movement. This shirt is a great solution for looking professional when it's hot out. I wear it when I work as an assistant instructor in various firearms training classes. Despite lots of hard wear, the shirt keeps me looking professional and keeps me feeling comfortable."

"For travel, photo assignments, or those times when you should like smart but relaxed, this is the shirt for me! Attention to detail is amazing - triple stitching, hidden button-downs, pen slot on sleeve, nice length to tuck in to pants, or wear loose. The vent at the back is a lifesaver and the material seems to be able to stay mostly wrinkle-free even in high humidity.
I'm getting two of every color!"

"I ordered tactical shirts from a variety of manufacturers and found that the quality of materials and workmanship is much higher in the 5.11 tactical manufacturing. I appreciate a good product and will pay more for it and come back and buy again. Customer service was great as well. Was disappointed that some of the sizes I needed were not available in the colors I needed and that the back order time was so long. I will remember to order early in the future."

"The doc pockets on both sides are amazing for travel(Passport,boarding passes), great for maps you've printed out or picked up at a concierge, it's just an amazingly useful shirt overall.
The only thing to take note of are that the Short sleeve shirts are slightly larger than the long sleeved ones (a Large S/S is bigger than a Large L/S at least in all 3 I own).
Oh, and people give you weird looks when you pull pens out of the sleeve pockets. but hey, that's their problem. :) Great shirt."

"This shirt was intended to be a work shirt, and it does great as a range shirt. But I like it best when going on flights. The hidden pockets and pen pockets are super. Going through security, you can stash the boarding pass and wallet in the hidden pockets. It's easy to pull them in and out during the security lines. Later, on the airplane in that skinny middle seat with mini arms in the air like T-Rex, you're not sitting for six hours on your wallet and you can get to the stuff in your pockets, including the pens, without knocking everyone. It stays comfortable in terms of temperature and fitting for long trips. I routinely wear it on the way out and back on trips. If it needs cleaning (next seat spills) I wash it (inside out) in a sink, hang it for a while over the shower to get all the drips out then hang it in the window to dry while I'm out at a meeting during the day. Then it looks sharp for the trip home. I have the long and short sleeve versions, I like the short sleeve the best for comfort."

"They are especially great for traveling. The giant hidden pockets are awesome for everyday use and for ease of access when reaching inside Army-style ballistic vests.
The O.D. Green and Desert Sand (that's not what they call it but that's what it is) colors have held up great. The black one has a different mesh material inside that doesn't breathe as well, and it faded very quickly. If I had my way, I would do away with the hidden button down collars and just go with a regular old button down. But those are minor nits - overall, these are some of the best shirts I have ever owned."
