"I wrote a review for the black basket weave 1.5" belt a couple of weeks ago. Prior to that I had emailed to 5.11 customer service my dissatisfaction with the black paint rubbing off of the belt on the first day of use. Within minutes I received a personalized return email that sighted a problem with earlier belts and a request to provide the size, color, and shipping location for a new belt. Today I received a box that not only had a replacement belt, but a different styled belt as well. Now that is customer service if I ever saw it. 5.11 stands behind the products that they sale in my opinion and I will continue to purchase and recommend their products."

Leather Belt--good idea, poor execution September 9, 2009
"I had one of these belts and loved the stiffness for holster work. However after 30 days the finish wore off in several sponts and the white internal plastic liner was showing on the edges. Looked like it was 5 yrs old and worn out. Expected much better product for the price."

Terrible Belt February 20, 2009
"This is the worst belt I have ever bought. I bought the black one and the 'dye' is flaking off!! The plastic (yes, PLASTIC) part that covers the edges is distigrating! This is one of the first 511 products I have purchased and I'm going to seriously consider before buying anything with the 511 endorsment! Wow. VERRRRRY BAD!!! AND FOR $45.00!!!!!"

Bad Execution October 29, 2008
"I bought the BROWN version about nine months ago. It began showing wear almost immediately and now it's falling apart and must be replaced because it looks like h*ll. Functionally, it is what I was looking for. It really does support a full size pistol with ease.
5.11 should offer an exchange for customers who turn in these inferior quality belts.
5.11, are you listening?
Meanwhile, I'm forced to buy another belt!"

Not worth it. September 4, 2008
"Purchased two of these belts one in black and one in brown. The black belt has been great, however the brown one w/ in a month fell apart.. I’m a detective and where I position my weapon, cuffs, xtra mag and cell phone the outer layer of whatever they covered it w/ (plastic I guess) wore away down to bare leather.. I had to throw it out…. My Chief actually remarked that I better get a new belt. … The black belt has hardly shown any wear"

"I used this belt for almost daily wear in a plain clothes position carrying a pistol, spare mag, phone, etc.—nothing out of the ordinary. Within two months the belt showed bare leather where the plastic mag pouch and phone hanged from it. Within three months it showed bare leather from where the belt made contact with the buckle. I was surprised that it showed wear so badly and so quickly. It was virtually unserviceable (because it looked so bad) within four or five months. As a detective supervisor (and only size 36” waist!), I hardly put this belt through its paces! Brand-new, I loved the look and it was a great belt for holding cop stuff. It just didn’t hold up in terms of finish or quality."

"Finally a belt that doesn't get shredded from wearing a holster and gun on it. The only drawback is if you chose to carry a handcuff key in the pouch. It can make it a little uncomfortable. The alternative, however, is even more uncomfortable so I will carry that piece of insurance with me."

Great Value for a Carry Belt August 29, 2008
"This is a great value for a belt that supports a firearm. I own two custom concealed carry belts that cost more than twice what I paid for this belt and the 5.11 is what I wear. I own two of them and wear them all of the time. I have found that they scratch easily and require some extra care, but they are a great value compared to the other choices available for those who carry a firearm."

"I bought 2 of these belts as my first purchase from 5.11. I will not need another belt in my lifetime. This belt is all they say they are and more. Only problem I have had is the top and bottom edge of belt is not leather and gets worn off. Is does not affect use or look but would nice if cured on such a killer belt.

"I am a small town cop who is always seeing my clients off duty, so I always carrying off duty. This belt dosen't sag or allow the firearm to bend outward making it obvious that I have a gun. This belt works great and I have worn it to formal occassions and it blends right in. I wear mine daily when off duty."

Great looking belt with great support August 27, 2008
"My old,leather pants belt finally gave out and I began looking a new belt that I could wear with jeans, khaki's and cargo pants, that would also support a handgun.
I found that belt at a local tactical supply shop and ended up buying two of the 5.11 leather casual belts. I bought one brown one for daily wear and another in black for those infrequent days that I get stuck wearing a suit.
The color of the leather is a rich brown and goes very well with all of my casual clothing. Even my wife said she liked it,since it doesn't scream, "tactical."
The buckle is very solid and with the interior liner, it does an amazing job at supporting my mid-sized gun, an extra magazine and cell phone."

"Have owned 2 of these belts for several months, the brown one gets worn almost every day, the black much less often. Great support with a IWB holser and Colt Lightweight Commander. No sagging, no continuous pulling up your pants.
Great value! Have had "famous" leathermaker belts at 2 to 3 times the cost that didn't have the support of this belt."
