Great all around boot

"There are a lot of features about this boot that I really like, some I didn’t even know I wanted until I got the boot. For starters it is just a good overall boot. It is a solid, comfortable boot and broke in very quickly. I like the Tactical version but for patrol use this is easier to keep clean and holds a nice shine if you worry about that.
- Some boots are advertised as waterproof but this one really is 100% waterproof. Over a recent three day period we got 11 inches of rain and my feet were about the only thing on me that was dry. I even submerged them in a puddle just to really test them. No water. - I like the idea of having that pull tab on the back of the boot to help pull the boot on but they always aggravated me because other styles that stuck out continuously caught my pant leg throughout the day. The elastic version on this boot was a great idea and works perfectly. - I like the cinch system too. My boots have come untied a few times but never came loose. - The design of the sole provides good solid traction on every surface I’ve been on so far, wet or dry. - I have not had to wear them in the cold yet but my feet have not roasted in some pretty high temperatures. - Running is no problem. There are other boots manufacturers out there that that push their boots being light and fast but are not much more then high top tennis shoes. These provide the support and traction you expect from a boot. You actually feel like you are wearing a boot."

"A 80 pound pit bull latched onto my left foot. The boot protected my foot good enough for me to stop the dog. I sustained some bruising but no skin break. I am sold on these boots. I cant wait for my next pair to replace these."

"I have worn many boots from various manufacturers, the XPRT Patrol boots are by far the best that I have purchased. The Talon system gives your ankle rock solid support and the boots really are waterproof. The boots are lighter in weight and offer more dexterity than any other boot I have worn. I will buy another pair when these wear out."

"Loved these boots from the get go very comfortable and was easy to break in, Had problem with the leather flaking off during a mountain hike, customer service was awsom sent me a new pair asap Having to go a week without them sure has made me appreciate the 5.11 brand even more."

Good Boots

"I originally purchased the 8" ATAC side zipper boots, but they weren't waterproof at all. So as customer service sent me these boots. We had a lot of rain recently and my partner and I had to walk four miles in the mud and water. My feet were submerged several times, and they stayed dry until my pants became soaked from the wet grass and it seeped into my socks."

"I am new to law enforcement so i haven't realy got a chance to try to many boots but I just got a pair of the Xpert Patrol and they are amazing light comfortable they performe great. I am definately satisfied with these boots and i have been telling my friends about them and would definately keep recommending these boots to more friends."

"Overall they are not a bad boot, though they do not shine at all. Over a can of wax on them and they look the same. I even tried paying a cobbler to clean them up, no dice. They are light weight and I love the cinch system."

"I had purchased the "ATAC STORM" and they fell apart twice!!! Used there rapid warranty exchange and got these. The ankle support is amazing and the fit is right on the money. So Far so good. Lets see how they hold up hiking and running after scum bags! Quality seems better than the "STORM BOOT" ."

"I really do like these boots, I think I'm just bitter a little because there's no side zips. I switch from my beloved 5.11 ATAC Storm's to these, and I wish I wouldn't have.
They are VERY comfortable though, almost like wearing a tennis shoe but there's definatly great ankle support. They have nice aggressive tread too, which I actually got to try out on wet grass chasing some mope the 2nd night I had them on patrol. They clean up nice too. Like the first guy posted, I haven't quite figured out the cinch system, and there's some funky elastic strap on the backside top of the boot that I don't know what it's for. I think it has to do something with the cinch system, but they almost need instructions to show you what they are supposed to do. The plastic sinch pieces are sitting in my desk drawer right now until I can figure out if they're supposed to help make taking the boot on and off a little faster. I tried all sorts of stuff with them to figure it out, and never did and everything looked goofy.
Otherwise, awesome boot. The kick toe is great. The one problem I had with my full safety toes on my ATAC's was that if I knelt down and the toe of the boot was bent at a sharp angle, sometimes the safety toe would stay bent. These new XPRT's with the kick toe don't do anything like that and are very comfortable even when kneeling.
Great boots, great fit, awesome to run in. Just wish they had zips and were a little cheaper."

"After 22 years of law enforcement, I have tried a lot of boots. I currently own three pairs, all 5.11's. I am a strong believer in composite safety toes, and have been using the ATAC Shield boots for several years. This May, I purchased a pair of the Xprt Patrol. While I miss the side zipper, and have not quite figured out the cinch system (ok, I simply removed them), I find these boots to be very comfortable and supportive, and the kick toe cap provides nearly as much protection as a full safety toe, without the need to purchase a boot 1/2 size larger than your normal size. I have recommended these boots to my co-workers."
