"After the first five minutes I fell in love with these boots. I haven't even broken them in yet and they are keepers. First day at work with these boots I had to put them to the running test. They definitely are made for running."

"I purchased the speed 8 boots several months ago to replace my Converse boots that didn't hold up for 10 hours shifts. I have finally gotten the boots broken in and enjoy wearing the boots. This is my first pair of 511 boots but it won't be the last. I want to buy the desert tan boots to wear when I'm off duty."

"Good patrol boot for the price. Its comfortable and reasonably durable. Although it takes a while to get the leather conditioned to take a good shine, I quit buying other brands and keep a few pair of 5.11 boots on hand for patrol and training."

"I am very pleased with the Speed boot. It is light weight, comfortable, affordable, and it lets your feet breath. The boot needed no break in and compared to other boots I have owned, this one is superior. I assumed the boots would fit a little big like many other brands I have owned so I ordered a half size smaller than my running shoes to compensate and wish I hadn't. If you wear a size 12, then order a size 12."

"This boot is the one you want to wear if your doing a lot of hours walking or pushing a desk. They are very light weight, comfortable, breath and are well designed. They offer excellent grip and are "quiet", no squeaking. Whether you do an 8 hour or 12 hour shift, these boots are great."

"I bought the previous version of this boot about a year ago and have not been impressed. The biggest problem is that almost anywhere the nylon outers join with the leather (along the lacings, near the heel strap) the nylon has shredded away from the leather. While this has not yet harmed the structural integrity of the inside of the boot, it is only time. I hope on the newer style they have found a better way to attach the nylon to the leather. Otherwise, the interior has held up failry well and the sole has worn at a normal rate. The boots did require a little longer than average break in and are not all that comfortable. In the world of today's boots, $80.00 is fairly cheap but still I would have liked a little more for my money."

"Prior to purchasing the 5.11 Tactical 8" Speed Boot I wore heavy steel shank/toe boots for daily station wear. I am a Firefighter/EMT and needed good support and durability. I suffered from plantar faciatas and sciatica problems. After discovering 5.11 at a trade show I decided to purchase these boots. These boots have really made my feet pain free!! These boots have stood up through a Northeast winter and summer while showing very little signs of wear and tear. A few of my co workers have also purchased 5.11 products and are very satisfied. I highly recommend 5.11 to any Firefighter, Police Officer or EMS worker!!"
