Good boot whith flaws

"I believe this is the second boot of this style I've bought from 5.11 It had the usual break in issues of being too stiff the first half dozen times to get into the boot without having to untie the bootstrings but once it loosened up it seems to wrok just fine. Several days ago the suede leather strip that keeps the zipper away from your socks tore, probably from getting caught in the zipper. Boot still works just fine and is a definite relief during the recent hot spell we had."

"This is my second pair. First had a defective zipper. So I returned them and they gave me a new pair. After a year, the side split away from the base. Very disappointed. They are very comfortable boot."

"Before leaving for Afghanistan I was looking for a good pair of boots that not only would be comfortable but fit my wide feet.
I ended up purchasing a diferent brand of boots and after getting here it became clear they were junk. After reading the great reviews I ordered a pair of Advance boots.
Shipping was Fast (less then 10 days). As soon as I got the box I tried them on the fit was great even for my 4E sized feet. I have worn them almost everyday. Incredibly comfortable wish I would have bought these first. Simply the best!"

"I loved the high version of this boot althugh with my high instep they were a challenge to get in and out of. The shorter side-zip version is the best boot I've ever owned - comfortable in both hot and cold weather with great traction and support. Thanks for a great product!"

"Anyone who says these boots are not the best thing they have worn is crazy.
These boots are more comfortable than my sneakers... I wear them every day, and have for 6 months already and they look great still. I haven't even worried about keeping them clean and they have held up perfectly.
I never have aching feet or problems standing. They truly are comfortable and were designed with me in mind."

"I have owned many many issue boots, and tactical boots, from the old black issue Army boot, to Danners to the $19.95 jungle boot, and the 5.11 has worn excellently for me for over 2 1/2 years. I have worn them for duty, ranges, off-duty, casual, and security, and have no complaints. Durable, light and breathable, I will be sure to continue to buy these. I have the speed 8 for use in uniform, and the tan 6" advance for all other purposes. You cannot go wrong. If you have a problem, call customer service instead of being content with a disappointment."

"This is my second boot from 511. My first boot is ATAC 6" boot, It broken when I wear only one and half years. The sole come unglued, the boot totally break. I think maybe it is separate case. So I bought other one "Advancd Boot", I wish this one is suppose better than ATAC. but I'm wrong again. Only after 4 mouth the Tactical sticky-rubber toe appear many crackle. After I wear it 10 mouth, I found a big chink on both Tactical sticky-rubber toe. I can't wear it now. The 511 bootlace is poor too, very easy loose when you walking. I think this one is my last 511 boot......"

"This was my first boot from 5.11 and it feels great. Combine this with their socks and I can wear these boots all day. They are very light and breathe well. The zipper option is great and easy to use. I have worn many style boots in the military and tried on and assortment of tactical footwear from different companies. These by far are my favorite. I highly recommend these if you are looking a great summer time boot."

"A wonderful, light-weight, all purpose boot. I have had this boot for a year, and there is not one seam that has gotten loose. You can drag it through dry dirt and sand, and it still looks unworn at the end of the day. This boot fits great and is very well made. It could use a little more cushioning, however. Overall, execellent choice for everyday wear or outdoor wear."

"You may not enjoy hearing this but, I was very dissatisfied with these boots. Probably my fault for ordering cold without trying on the boots at a retailer. When the catalog described the "Shock Mitigation System" and the "Polymer Cushion" for lasting comfort, I envisioned the boot as the answer to aching feet as I'm on concrete 10 hours a day. When the boots arrived, after ordering from the web site, I walked down the hall with the boots on and took them off immediatly. It was as though I had strapped on two oak boards. There was none of the cushin I had imagined. No softness as the sole hit the floor. Just hard, jarring steps. I should have returned them but I decided to give them some time. I will wear them for an hour or so with aftermarket gel insoles, but that's all I can stand. Although I can't afford to buy a lot of 511 gear, I know of the quality of your products. This one just didn't work for me."

"Wearing a pair of boots that wore like iron was no longer appealing to me. When time came to replace them, the Advance was an excellent choice. Fitting into my daily lifestyle, the Advance offered the right blend of comfort, fit, and features to keep me moving throughout the day, no matter the circumstances. During downtime, the side zips provide easy egress for even more comfort. Plus, I can throw them on with jeans on the weekend without getting any sideways looks. All around a great product that I enjoy everyday."
