"I was recommended a pair of these boots at a retail store and was a bit skeptical. But the fit to my foot was better than any of the other major name brand boots there, so I took a chance and went a bit over the price I wanted to spend. I was not disappointed. Having served in the past, I was amazed at how light and comfortable the boots were when compared to what was available at the time. If only I'd had these when I was in the service! Those boots 'n yoots runs would have gone so much easier, they felt more like running shoesthan boots. Over the past two years I've put the boots through "hard use" recreation on the weekends. Hiking and backpacking excursions, weekend airsoft games. These boots have been put through rugged terrain, submerged in mud and still kept on trucking while providing me with all day comfort, even when submerged in water. While hotspots do form going up or down steep inclines for extended periods of time, I have yet to develop a blister. While my days of fifteen and twenty mile humps are over, I've covered a fair amount of ground in these and would consider their performance excellent. Of course, one has to pair the boots with a good pair of socks, but anyone that's serious about hard use footwear knows that. I was worried about the eyelets not being reinforced and having the laces tear through, but so far have only noticed slight deformations on the shape of the hole. The boots also don't bind as muchas other brands at the ankle joint, allowing comfortable crouching/kneeling for long periods of time. The toe bumper is nice and solid without adding weight, and no portion of the sole has pulled away from the upper. When the laces are snugged tight the boots give great support without sacrificing comfort oir making you feel like you're wearing ski boots. Ankle rotation is only somewhat restricted, but yet I've never once rolled an ankle, even on uneven terrain. All and all, I am more than pleased with my purchase. I was skeptical at a new name brand being able to produce a quality product on a new venture, but was pleasantly surprised. I can't speak much to durability for someone concerned with active duty, though the boots have seen pretty tough use at least once a month over two years, with no signs of degrading. I'd highly recommend these boots to anyone looking for a solid, lightweight pair of tactical boots. The price is a bit steep compared to other brands, but you'll find that the comfort and performance more than makes up for the difference."

"I have had these boots for 3 weeks now and the left rear stitching separated above heel cup. This resulted in a 1 inch hole in the back of the boot. I deployed after receiving these boots and now have to ship them back through the APO system before they will ship me a new pair of boots. They are very comfortable but I am disappointed they ripped out so soon. Now I will be down to one pair of boots for about six weeks."

"the first thing they tought us at infantry school in fort benning was to take care of your feet, which is quite a challenge due to the quality of boot that the army issues in this day and age. i mean they do the job, but you sacrifice your arches and heels and ankles down the road if arent willing to put out money on a good pair of boots, such as these. being an infantryman is hard work, and these boots have kept up with every challenge ive been put against, be it mud, ice, rain, or just plain old dirt, they can handle anything. and they are mad comfortable. i love them. im ordering another pair once the ones i have no wear down."

"If you have blacks, you must have deserts or coyote as is the available color. the first one I bought were desert color or sand I belive it was called. Then Coyote's came and I believe those are better. The Sand ones, really nice but from all the dirt they picked up every day, no matter how much you washed them they ended up looking Coyote. So, again is a must ave product. Off course, don't forget your level I or level II 5.11 socks to come with your boots. Dry feet and cool in hot tropical places like this one CR.."

"This boot is a pretty impressive offering from 5.11. If you need a desert boot, it's hard to beat its durability and lightweight performance. Adequate waterproofing. A little tough to keep clean because of the softer fabric but, again, durability is the bigger draw. When I slip it on, I'm always amazed by how light it is for a full boot. Good for sustained movement. Highly recommended."

"These boots break in remarkably fast, last a very long time, have outstanding ankle support, and protect your foot extremely well.
